The artist’s friend Aarthi, a faithful Latter-day Saint, sits nobly among symbols of her Indian culture. Behind her head is a Prabhamandala, or halo, and she is surrounded by peacock feathers, both elements of Hindu mythology. "Bring with you all the good that you have," Gordon B. Hinckley invited those investigating the Church, "and then let us see if we can add to it" (meeting, Nairobi, Kenya, 17 Feb. 1998).
