"As recorded in 3 Nephi 13:22, the Lord said, “The light of the body is the eye; if, therefore, thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.” My aim was to express being a light and an example to the world, centered around the eye. The eye drawn in the center and facing toward the broad expanse of the world captures the feeling of wanting to spread the light and the example of the Lord. It expresses how the whole body of every member will be filled with light if “thine eye be single,” as spoken by the Lord. I believe that all members can radiate the light the Lord desires by holding up their light."
