"This painting is about a young woman of the Church who lets her light shine as she shares the gospel with another woman. The torch symbolizes the light we have as Latter-day Saint youth. Our Young Women logo is also a torch, which symbolizes the light our Savior gives. And so I painted a torch to be the light we could share with others. The small light of the torch can be like the light of the sun, which symbolizes the joy and true happiness that the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ brings to one’s life. By our small services and by sharing the gospel, we can light up other people’s lives. The Book of Mormon also signifies the joy of having the gospel in our lives."
