"I decided to focus on the parable of the ten virgins and thought that one way youth shine is through their actions. Through each good action, we add oil to our lamps—allowing us to gain light and brilliance in our daily lives. The oil lamp is an allusion to the parable of the ten virgins, showing that youth should use their good works to spread their light to all nations. As youth we can add oil to our lamps and be prepared for our Savior's coming by shining brilliantly through our good works. In this drawing the girl's oil lamp is full and so her lamp is lit. By the necklace she is wearing, she also exemplifies how the Church, specifically the Young Women program, aids us in attaining this oil."
