"Our choices affect the past and the future. My ancestors were great, amazing people. Their lives shine through the generations and have blessed my life immensely. This picture is of my great-grandmother holding me as a baby. She is looking into the future—her future and mine. She looks into the heavens and sees a castle, which represents the castle she has built in heaven and also the temple that binds her to me and to her posterity, and us to our ancestors. The leaves show the passing of time, through all generations—a family tree. I want to honor my ancestors’ lives by shining my light and sharing what they have given me."
