"In this work, I have compared an individual’s inner light with a spotlight, which produces a glow by what it bears in its interior. Exemplary young men and young women are the spotlights that shine where there is darkness. As youth, we must cause our light to shine through our attitude and ways of being and show our light to all nations. The metal items in the base of the spotlight symbolize that the material things we possess on earth are not of the greatest value. Symbols inside the spotlight include fragments of the Young Men and Young Women logos, laurel leaves that represent honor and performing one’s duty, and the angel Moroni with his trumpet, which represents our words going to all the world."
