"My painting shows how, as individuals, we should shine our light and rise to the occasion in our communities by striving to complete the mission of the Church. I used the clay oil lamp as a symbol that we must reach out and be an example to our neighbors and to those in other nations. The flame represents the shining influence of an individual. The four smaller paintings above the lamp portray the mission of the Church. The missionaries represent preaching the gospel, the Panama City Panama Temple depicts perfecting the Saints, the hands clasped together show humanitarian aid, and the books and papers portray redeeming the dead."
