"This painting represents Isaiah 1:18: “Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.” I chose to describe this scripture with a red Easter lily and a blue butterfly that has landed on it and is turning the lily white. The red lilies represent worldliness and sin. The white lily means purity, the butterfly represents the resurrection, and blue is symbolic of spirituality and faith. Because Christ suffered and died for us and was resurrected we may be clean and have eternal life. Only by repentance through the Atonement can we have the Light of Jesus Christ and be a standard for the nations."
