"My work is similar to the totem poles made by the Native Americans in the Pacific Northwest. It features wildlife found in that area. The lower layers of the totem pole represent the things of the world. On the top is a bird with its wings spread as it rises upward, separating itself from the others, representing the theme, “Arise and shine forth.”"
