"My painting portrays youth overcoming the world’s temptations and feeling the overpowering love of God. In the vision of the tree of life, Lehi beckoned others to follow him, hoping that they could enjoy the blessings of the gospel. Just like Lehi, this young girl in the painting is being an example of a believer helping others see what great rewards are in store for them if they too follow the example of Christ by enduring to the end. The oversized fruit symbolizes the huge reward for enduring to the end. God’s face in the tree with outstretched arms symbolizes God’s love. The girl reaching symbolizes putting forth effort even to the very end."
