"My painting is a depiction of the Crucifixion and the Resurrection, although in a modern style. It portrays the moment when Christ fulfilled his promise to do God’s will, and also the hope that Mary felt upon Christ’s resurrection. Everything we do, every standard that we obey, is with the goal of returning to our Heavenly Father and living with our eternal families. The Atonement makes it possible for us to do that. Christ is the epitome of arising and shining forth because He did and taught great things and He led by example. We should live as much like Him as possible so that we too can be examples to others."
