Hydrocal maquette
A sculptural sketch of a 14-foot doorway currently under construction, this maquette “uses duality in composition to represent two dispensations to help testify of the Articles of Faith,” said Dobson. On the left is the old dispensation, and on the right, the new. “When I read the Articles of Faith, I can almost hear Joseph Smith say, ‘We believe as in old!’ expressing the overarching point that this is the continuation of Christ’s church in the last days. I have increasingly felt it my responsibility to tell of these beliefs with images so that those with misconceptions of my faith may more easily understand the Latter-day Saint beliefs.”
