“Within [Latter-day Saint] culture the temple fills many roles,” Thompson said. The carefully crafted buildings with symbolic imagery also create an atmosphere of mindfulness, quiet reflection, and meditation.
This piece borrows from the design of the stained-glass windows in the Rexburg Idaho Temple—whose wheat, circle, and squares make reference to the scriptures and stand for the unity between heaven and earth.
