Diligence in Wisdom

“And as all have not faith, seek ye diligently and teach one another words of wisdom; yea, seek ye out of the best books words of wisdom; seek learning, even by study and also by faith” (Doctrine and Covenants 88:118). Stanley’s painting depicts a woman searching the scriptures with fervor. She explains that “diligence is careful and persistent work or effort. It is not enough to read the scriptures only once or attend church meetings only a few times in our life. We must seek wisdom often, study, and meditate upon that which we have learned and then apply it in our lives.”
