Nephi, in his efforts to obtain the plates of brass, was commanded to slay Laban. He was faced with a moral dilemma and conflicting and complicated commands from God. Depicting the pivotal moment, Parker captures both Nephi’s agony and his tremendous obedience and faith. Said Parker, “Despite his reluctance, Nephi knew he had to put his faith in the Lord.” There are times in Parker’s life when it’s hard to follow counsel, he said, “but I recognize that as I put my faith in the Lord, blessing will follow.”
