Depicting the Savior preparing the Last Supper, Gudmundsen tried to convey the magnitude of the moment and Christ’s “understanding of the meaning and implications behind the emblem of His blood,” said the artist. “My hope is that we may all consider more fully what the sacrament means, both to our Savior and to us, and that we may feel more gratitude by doing so.”
