Raw edge and reverse raw edge appliqué quilt using batik fabric
Let Us Walk in the Light was created using raw edge and reverse raw edge appliqué techniques and thousands of freehand-cut pieces of batik fabric. Hutchings chose the subject of the Sacred Grove because the majesty of the site reminds her that all things testify of Jesus Christ.
She said, “After the dense canopy of leaves has fallen, sunlight pours through the bare branches and floods the forest floor with light in a symbolic invitation to walk in the redeeming light and truth that was restored to the earth in these sacred woods.”
