Made from threaded coral beads using the African Yorùbá style (a tribe located primarily in Nigeria and parts of Benin), this piece uses vivid colors, bold lines, complicated patterns, and stylized figures to depict Adam and Eve, the first eternal companionship. The work explores and celebrates what Olagunju calls the “essential eternal principles of marriage” as a uniquely celestial partnership.
