Offering portrays the Moabite convert Ruth, who showed deep faith during immense personal turmoil. Following the deaths of her husband and her father-in-law, it was she who said to her mother-in-law, “Whither thou goest, I will go; . . . thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God” (Ruth 1:16).
“We see the calm the Spirit brings when we look to God in the uncertainties of life,” said Harris. “Many times in my life I have felt that I was in the midst of the storms. They were just behind me, swirling around me and gathering seemingly unhindered in front of me. When I turn to the Lord completely, offering up my heart and my will to trust in Him, I find a place of peace.”
