In Out of the Wilderness, wooden chairs tumble and fall out of cha 2000 otic foliage. The dining room chairs, according to Matthews, “represent a family finding a route out of an untrackable wilderness by means of a forceful current within a roaring waterfall. In the scriptures, rushing water is a symbol used to represent the voice of the Lord.” Thus, it is the word of God that offers safety, “spiritual direction, protection, and transformation.” Diligently searching, said Elder David A. Bednar, “can open the floodgates of the spiritual reservoir, enlighten our understanding through [Christ’s] Spirit.”
