While God said He would multiply the seed of Abraham and Sarah “as the stars of the heaven” (Genesis 22:17), they were asked to wait, beyond hope, for the promise to be realized. Thinking about Sarah during those childless years of yearning, Matz envisioned her looking “up at the numberless stars, trying to stay hopeful and faithful. In those moments I imagine her remembering the works of the Lord.”
