“There is a sense of architecture, progression from left to right, and symbolism in Temple,” explained Brown. “Collage allows the meaning to change depending on the context: an image of a fireplace becomes an altar, a bit of garden echoes the Creation, a piece of fabric transforms into a veil.” The process of creating through gathering everyday objects reflects his spiritual journey. “Although I don’t know what my future holds, when I look back over various events, lessons, and relationships in my past, a pattern and a story become visible—I can see the hand of the Lord in my life.”
