As a small child, Larsen “learned the usual things—to tie my shoes, to ride a bike, to read and write,” she said. But she also “learned to sing—‘Tell Me the Stories of Jesus,’ ‘The Golden Plates,’ ‘Jesus Once Was a Little Child,’ and many more. Every Sunday, I sang those songs in a small room full of children. . . . And often, I sang them at home as I played.”

“The melodies made me feel that heaven was close. The words made me ponder.” In this piece, Larsen pays tribute to Primary songs, “to the way the music and lyrics become early teachers that remain with us, bolstering our testimonies over a lifetime.”
