Me ma wo akwaaba means “I welcome you” in Twi, a language widely spoken in Ghana by the Akan people. Here, a father tenderly holds in his arms his infant wrapped in kente cloth. Surrounding the two figures is another arm, that of the mother, which holds them both as they welcome their new baby into the world.
