A Basket to Eat, a Basket to Share

“Gratitude is reflected in giving. Bright skies of blue and full white clouds, fields ripe and plentiful, and two baskets brimming over with the fruit of the earth symbolize the plenty of our spiritual and temporal blessings. My basket continually runs over with the truths of the restored gospel as well as with the abundance of the earth’s gifts. The woman in the painting bears two baskets, one of which contains enough for her needs, while the other contains plenty to share. When individuals follow the adage spoken in a favorite hymn, ‘Because I have been given much, I too must give,’ they truly show their thanksgiving to their Heavenly King who, after all, is the supplier of every basket of good gifts.”
