“This handmade book was made to express the blessings I have because of Joseph Smith. I wanted to create something to honor him by using what I have learned in photography, bookmaking, and writing as a student at Brigham Young University. The text on each of the five pages was written to show the ways Joseph Smith’s vision, prayer, obedience, and example have blessed my life today. The images of flowers symbolize the rebirth of spring and the Restoration that brought renewed faith, hope, love, and truth to the earth. The gold cover symbolizes that this record, which contains my testimony received by personal revelation, is my ‘gold plates.’ My ancestors, the Knights, were friends of the Prophet, and I want my descendants to know that I am continuing the heritage of faith that our ancestors established.”
