“In the Book of Mormon and the Old Testament, we are reminded of the Lord’s eternal love and His endless mercy through Isaiah’s words: ‘But his hand is stretched out still’ (Isaiah 9:12, 17, 21; see also 2 Nephi 19). Three times the Lord tells of His anger toward His rebellious children and what will befall them. Nevertheless, each time His anger is softened with the words, ‘But his hand is stretched out still.’ In our day, the Lord’s hand is stretched out through Church leaders, Church members, and His emissaries—the missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This painting is of my son Elder Camron Smith, who is currently serving as a Vietnamese-speaking missionary in the South Houston Texas Mission.”
