“We all must ascend the mountains and travel through the deep waters of disappointment, anguish, and physical pain. In faith we sometimes fall to our knees, pleading for guidance. Light comes into our lives, and the spindles of inspiration direct us. Though this is glorious, we still must choose to stand and step forward, the light in hand, and work through our darkness. My piece, Faith and Works, consists of 60 individually carved, cast, and hand-finished components. The symbols and writing encompass many of the principles of Christ’s teachings, and the heritage of God’s people is faith. The Liahona is a symbol of that heritage.”
