The title—taken from 1 Peter 3:7—and stitched phrases from “The Family: A Proclamation to the World” express how we cherish the husband and wife relationship. Folk-art floral designs hint at the enduring nature of our beliefs, as do miniature patchwork blocks, whose time-honored names suggest rich aspects of the marriage experience: log cabin, rosebud, basket of plenty, union, wheel of fortune, homestead, world without end, love knot, economy, and friendship chain.”
