“My inspiration for this painting came from watching my daughter care for her infant son with great love and tenderness and also from our talks together of what her baby might become some day. It made me think of Mary caring for the baby Jesus with similar love, tenderness, and wonder as she thought of her son’s divine mission. My daughter and grandson served as models for this portrait.”
