“It’s not easy for a young mother to get her family ready for church. Dad is being as helpful as he can. Although the morning is hectic, the mother’s determined smile shows she understands the eternal importance of her calling as wife, mother, and Primary worker. My painting includes a number of symbols to convey its message: (1) the family in a figure eight, infinity pattern suggests the eternal nature of the family; (2) six-pointed stars on the tie refer to endless posterity; (3) flowers on the dress refer to accomplishment and maturity; (4) right angles refer to exactness in keeping the commandments; (5) Christ is the center of the home, and all things point to Him.”
