“Just previous to working on this painting, I had a number of experiences that greatly strengthened, enriched, and reaffirmed my testimony of the Atonement of our Savior Jesus Christ. I wanted to express my gratitude for that testimony in this painting. My desire was to create a piece of artwork that would encourage the viewer to ponder the message of Christ’s atoning sacrifice and find peace and comfort through the confirming witness of the Holy Ghost.”
