“Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery here wade into the clear, clean waters of the Susquehanna River in upstate Pennsylvania, following a glorious visit by the resurrected John the Baptist. After receiving the Aaronic Priesthood from John, they baptized one another by immersion. Priesthood authority in the Church of Jesus Christ was thus restored.”
