“Moroni fought to defend his people from destruction. He did not desire to shed blood, yet he had to spend his time in combat. He loved peace and sought to keep the commandments. Through all these trials, Moroni remained righteous and faithful even though he lived in an environment of suffering, hatred, and death. He led his people to safety, and he was courageous in standing for his beliefs. As we are a peaceful influence wherever we live, having faith, living righteously, and standing firm, we can influence our neighbors, friends, and other people. This sculpture was completed the night I entered the mission home to serve in Pusan, Korea.”
