“These are three of my wonderful daughters, all of whom were briefly in the Young Women program at the same time. The picture illustrates the uncertainty of the youngest, Ashley, a Beehive girl, as she enters Young Women and leaves behind the world of childhood, make believe, and playfulness. She sees her sisters, who look confident and refined. In the middle, Angela, a Mia Maid, embodies the joy of being a young woman. The program has given her confidence in her day-to-day decisions. She has great joy and certainty in her future. The oldest, Amber, a Laurel, has matured and reached an age where she will leave Young Women. The teachings of her Young Women leaders and the values taught (which are shown in the flowers) have prepared her to enter the temple and take on all the roles waiting for her as a Latter-day Saint woman.”
