“This is a picture book that uses the fourth verse of the hymn ‘I Believe In Christ’ as its text. The story is about Stuart and Nathanael, my twin brothers. Twenty years ago, they were born nearly 16 weeks premature. To no one’s surprise, Nathanael lived only four days. Stuart defied both science and reason and eventually came home to our family. He suffers from cerebral palsy and has had severe physical limitations all his life. But he is best defined by his grateful heart, his perseverance, and his native cheery temperament. Stuart is the first-person speaker of the book, and he created the calligraphy, or handwriting, that displays the text.”
