“This is a still life of a real chair that I believe was made by my pioneer ancestor. In his journal, my ancestor wrote, ‘Made a chair.’ While he was a man of few words, he was of sure faith. I have the chair, and although I no longer have access to my ancestor, I have some of his words. In that way I still feel the effects of his faith.”
