"As I pondered the theme of the competition, my mind was overwhelmed with all the great things that God has blessed us with. As I continued to think about it, the family kept coming to my mind. As members of the Church, we know how important the family is in our Heavenly Father’s plan. We should remember to focus our efforts on keeping our families strong and working together. This is one reason the figures in my sculpture are all joined together, each watching out for the other. I used white alabaster to represent the sacredness of the family unit and of each spirit in the family. The pink alabaster represents the mortal side of each of us. I hope this piece brings to mind how precious our families are and reminds us that we should strive to make our families eternal families."
