"A wonderful story of repentance and forgiveness is recorded in the New Testament. A woman carrying an alabaster box of ointment entered a place where Jesus sat eating and washed His feet with her tears and anointed them with ointment. Jesus said, “I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little” (Luke 7:47). This scripture exemplifies how faith, hope, and charity can work in our lives. The woman’s faith and repentance led her to seek the Lord’s forgiveness. This was not an easy task, for she was despised and rejected. Through the Lord’s redeeming love, hope was born in her."
