"Here is a depiction of my experience of meeting Brother Johnson by the Accra Ghana Temple, as recorded in my journal: 'A cute, humble man, with a round nose and crooked glasses. He shook our hands and thanked us for all our work in the Church, thanked us for the help and humanitarian aid of the Church during the drought and famine, thanked us for the beautiful Accra Ghana Temple. How wonderful it is to have a temple! He never thought he would see one in his country. Gratitude and love emanated from him as he continued thanking us. I began feeling a bit ashamed of myself. Here was this great man—a modern-day Alma the Younger, who taught the gospel full-time for 14 years and had over 1,000 people prepared for baptism when the missionaries arrived in 1978.'”
