"Our life here on earth requires each of us to walk through the “land of Moriah” (Genesis 22:2). Each trial we have and sacrifice we must make is different and adapted to our specific needs. This painting remembers the sacrifices made by the Mormon pioneers, who are great motivating symbols for us. Some were tried by the loss of a child. Others sacrificed all to raise their children in the gospel of Jesus Christ. We have the same task—the opportunity to pass on a heritage undiminished."
