"This is a symbolic painting of the passage into mortal probation of my daughter as a newborn, wearing the blessing dress of her great-grandfather, made for him by his mother. The dress reveals family ties and inheritance that aid us through mortal probation and even throughout eternity, I believe. The format is square. Lost and found red lines upon a deep black background delineate geometry and architecture to indicate passageways between spheres, states of existence, and a meeting of worlds. The child’s face and hands are as lifelike and glowing as I can accomplish. My intention is that this child is being “presented” to her new world, fresh and beautiful. The lines suggest the passage through which she has just traveled from the former sphere of her premortal life, and the orderly nature of the passage and the governing hand of God."
