"The white figures on the hill are symbols of the temple and a family. Emerging at their feet are thick roots that cling to the sides of the hill, spreading and growing down to its base. As the roots bind a tree to the earth, families are bound together in the gospel in love and quite literally through temple ordinances. Our “roots” also refer to our ancestors, for whom we do temple work and from whom we gain strength. The family is key in this life and afterward. As a mother of young children, I am keenly aware of the influences that aim to damage this sacred establishment.
