"Many of the great things of God are found in nature and, for me especially, in planting, growing, and harvesting my own garden. What a joy it has been to plant the seeds and, with God’s help, see them grow. My favorite time of the year is harvesttime, when we enjoy the fruits of our labors. President Spencer W. Kimball said, 'Grow all the food that you possibly can on your own property, if water is available; berry bushes, grapevines, and fruit trees are most desirable. Plant them if your climate is right for their growth. Grow vegetables and eat those grown in your own yard.' God said, 'Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, . . . and God saw that it was good' (Genesis 1:11–12).
