"In this work I wanted to represent, through pre-hispanic symbols reminding me of my ancestors, some of the great things that God has done for His people to show them His love, the most important being sending His son, our Redeemer. To do this, with the purpose of not forgetting what Christ should signify in our lives, I shaped some of the symbols that He has in the scriptures, for example, in the front there is a fountain of water represented by 3 large drops together with 12 small ones (which signifies that Christ is the water of life and at the same time symbolizes the trinity and the 12 apostles). On the right is represented the coming forth of the Book of Mormon to the earth, another testament of Christ fulfilling the prophecy of Isaiah. There is also an arrow that represents the word of Christ and a hand holding the sticks of Judah and Ephraim representing the testament of two nations. To the left, the tree of life with the Liahona and the iron rod, symbols of God’s love. On the back of the sculpture there is a cob [literal translation] with 2 people sharing bread, which signifies that Christ is the bread of life. Below and around the sculpture, Quetzalcoatl, and Aztec representation of the white bearded god, who visited this people as did Christ, which goes around 3 times creating three levels, each one having a symbol: the bottom one a star, the middle one the moon, and the top one the sun, which represent the 3 degrees of glory."
