"The Mother of All Living portrays the enduring faith, hope, and charity of our noble mother Eve. To dwell in a fallen world is a dreadful thing for anyone, but to be a mother in a fallen world is to bring forth children in darkness. Eve could have focused on her plight and thereby set a sorrowing example of selfish recrimination. Instead, she looked to the Light and Life and Truth of the World. She lifted her gaze to the hope God offered. In doing so, she lifted her children and the world itself. Adam and Eve were driven from the Garden of Eden. They were shut out from the presence of the Lord, but neither they nor any of their children have ever been beyond His reach. The light in this painting is a Father’s hand resting gently, lovingly on a beloved daughter’s sunlit head."
