"I was sitting in Sunday School studying the book of Revelation, when the vivid imagery described in this book of scripture stunned me. So many possible paintings could be generated by the text, so I began with chapters 15 and 16, which describe the final judgments and plagues poured out by seven angels. This painting is one of a set of seven paintings, each with its own angel and judgment. Seven of my friends volunteered as models for the works, and I represented each judgment through colors, animals, symbols, and designs."
