"My work is simply telling the story of everyday life in rural Africa, where mothers are collecting water for their families and children are waiting in the shade. I never cease to wonder at nature’s beauty and the changing scenery when I am hiking or cycling with my family; I am passionate about color and nature. For me, this painting demonstrates how simple life can be and yet be filled with so much joy. I love children, and motherhood is the greatest gift I feel women have been given, whether we have children of our own or the opportunity to give a loving home to those in need."
