Dyer’s book explores the notion of credo—a statement of belief that guides actions—with 12 panels that each represent a word or story of Christ’s gospel. The wing squares on the front of the cards were printed so the variation in color moves from bright red to pale lavender, symbolizing the way Christ initiates our “becoming” celestial. The poem-texts provide symbolic paired imagery for this process. The devoted viewer will find Christ’s story of salvation hidden among the simple images.
