The Atonement was Christ’s crowning achievement, sacrifice, and act of love. From the Garden of Gethsemane through His death on the cross, Jesus took upon Himself the sins, sicknesses, infirmities, and suffering of all people, individually and for all time, making it possible for us to be forgiven and live with Him again. In His time of agony in the garden, He is shown surrounded by darkness, but the light is still with Him.
